Free loan machine (Subject to availability. Only if taken back to store)
Should you encounter a problem, just ask and you'll be provided with a unit to ensure you're not without music whilst your equipment is being fixed.
Like for like machine if unit is unrepairable
If, for any reason, we are unable to repair your unit, we'll replace it. Naturally, models do change so, while we can't guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications.
Free routine service / Maintenance checks
have your unit serviced as often as you wish, free of charge, during the 6 year period. (Normally excluded from extended guarantees).
45 day cooling off period

Better value than ever but with the same class-leading performance, the Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100 is a true audio bargain.
What does the DacMagic 100 do?
Whatever the digital source, the DacMagic 100 will make your music sound better. Simply plug in your dock, Blu-ray, DVD, TV or CD player via optical or coaxial connections and enjoy audio quality that's way ahead of what you might expect. There's a USB connection for your computer, laptop or tablet and it also supports 24-bit/192kHz transfer, so music files stored on your laptop in top 24/192 quality can be streamed, uncompressed, and enhanced by its DAC.
Class-leading sound quality
Whatever your music source, you'll enjoy genuine hi-fi quality sound by using the Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100. A Wolfson WM8742 24-bit DAC is teamed up with Cambridge Audio's wealth of digital engineering knowledge to create a sound that's vibrant, detailed and remarkably free from jitter. Jitter is especially prevalent on music sent via network devices or hard drives and can give the sound a harsh and unnatural quality.
There are two coaxial inputs and a single optical one, all switchable from the front. Add to this the USB input and gold-plated analogue RCA outputs for connecting to your hi-fi and the DacMagic 100 has every angle covered.
Audiophile quality sound from your digital sources without having to spend a fortune? Now, Dac's magic!

Versatile and great value.
Bought this to replace an Arcam rLink which connected my new OLED tv to my Arcam Solo Neo music system. As the rLink refused to switch on unless I replugged in the device each time the Cambridge DAC Magic 100 with its on/off switch seemed to be the ideal solution. Well built, easy to connect up and perfect if you require good sound from a digital source. Mids and highs are beautifully clear although the bass on my system can be a bit too much.
Is it better than an Arcam rLink? For me, yes in terms that it works having an on/off switch, but probably not because it can't match the rich and exciting sound of the Arcam. But that said, unless you have a bigger budget and can stretch to the present Arcam DACS go for the DAC Magic 100 instead as at £130 paid its well worth it.
Richer Sounds (Weybridge) as always were terrific to deal with.

Good product which transforms computer audio.
I read some useful instructions on how to get the unit to operate at the higher sampling rates which is important to get the best sound. I can now listen to files from Spotify or Tidal and get acceptable results. It's a pity there's no headphone socket but I'll be adding my old amp to the system when I get some more speaker cable and hope to get an even better sound with ability to use headphones too.
I should say that my speakers have a built in amp but I can use another amp in a different configuration.

I had to return the unit as it repeatedly switched itself off when sampling. When it was functioning I didn't find the music quality from my CD player or DAB tuner enhanced. I also found the build quality of the DACmagic to be flimsy.

Brilliant Sound Quality
I'm using the DacMagic 100 with a new Mac Mini (running iTunes and Apple Lossless music files), an elderly Aura Evolution amplifier and a pair of B&W 685 S2's. The result is outstanding sound quality far exceeding any of my previous setups.
I'm not in a position to compare this unit with others but for me, as part of my setup, it provides excellent sound and good value for money.

Superb way to improve old CD player
I bought the DACMAGIC 100 to upgrade my 10 year old Denon CD player, without buying a brand new player.
The Denon has an optical output, so coupled with the DAC it works really well and has improved the sound. It's not just a small improvement it's a massive leap in quality - more detail, better stereo soundstage and a more involving listen. Classical piano recordings have particularly improved, as that was the Denon's weakness.
I'm a vinyl lover, but this gives CD a boost and now the turntable needs improving to keep up with it.
The ability to use the DAC with other PC based sources will be useful too.

Does exactly what is says on the tin!
Does the job beautifully. Easy to set up. Worked first time. The only wrinkle was having to work out how to turn off auto-power-down.

Small, easy to use and good quality sound
The only down side is that is does work with an iPad, but that is the iPads fault not the DACmagic. But I am still going to try but need to buy a simple Apple to USB adaptor first, but I think Apple have locked it down with later OS.
