Audiophile sound quality for your smartphone* or laptop

No matter how good your headphones, the sound will always be let down by the low quality DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) and amp built into your smartphone or laptop. With the Chord Mojo you get a huge increase in quality on both fronts. The Mojo uses Chord's latest and specially developed digital technology for stunning levels of realism. The powerful amp drives even the toughest headphones, giving them the potential to sound their most expressive and dynamic.
*Microsoft Windows smartphones not compatible.

High Resolution audio compatible
The extremely high quality digital processor is compatible with a huge range of high resolution music formats. Capable of playing files from 32kHz to an incredible 768kHz and even DSD512, the Mojo doesn't just match its larger and more expensive rivals for compatibility, it beats them. The USB socket is compatible right up to 32-bit/768kHz, while the optical input still boosts an impressive 24-bit/192kHz file capability. In short, if you're in to Hi Res then the Mojo has all the processing power you could ask for.

Excellent connectivity
Although it's pocket-sized, that doesn't stop the Mojo from having excellent connectivity. As well as USB, you can input a digital signal via optical or coaxial (3.5mm) inputs. Thanks to the pair of headphone outputs fitted, two people can enjoy the music. You can even charge your mobile device via a second USB interface.

Aircraft-grade aluminium construction
Rather than using cheap plastic, the UK-built Mojo is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminium. This not only makes it great to hold but also extremely tough and durable as well as electrically shielded from outside sources of interference.

Intuitive colour coding
With its intuitive, colour changing buttons, the Mojo is a cinch to use. The power button changes colour dependent upon the file type used, ranging from red for 44kHz to white for DSD files. The volume lights also change colour as the level increases or decreases, making it easy to remember your favourite settings.

Hear just what your music and headphones are capable of, with the award-winning Chord Mojo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great - Tested vs. Dragonfly Red & Black First have to mention the great service from Richer Sounds, allowing me to trial all three products before deciding. Chord Mojo (compared with the two Dragonfly units): - Had greater separation / definition; - Presents the sound slightly forward as if you are at a performance rather than (as with the Dragonfly products) putting you in the middle of it. I preferred this presentation but it took a little getting used to; - Definitely has better and more defined 'bottom end' - not boomy, just more to it - Can drive two sets of headphones and has sufficient power to drive those that need it But it's more than twice the price of the Dragonfly Red and four times the Dragonfly Black you might reasonably say. 'You pays your money...' - the Chord Mojo is well worth the extra for me. It's ability to deal with much higher sampling rates should give it some longevity too, even if those rates aren't so relevant for most users right now. Tested with a pair of Shure 1540s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic piece of kit Be prepared to hear music on a whole new level! The realism, separation and soundstage provided by this DAC is absolutely incredible. As a reference point I have been using Sonos Connect as my source, into a separate pre and power amp (Roksan Caspian) and PMC 23 speakers. Initially I connected the little Mojo to the Sonos Connect, it's been a while since I had an external DAC (I sold a M1DAC I was using in a house move a few months ago) and I had doubts over how much difference adding the Mojo would make instead of using the internal Sonos DAC. I shouldn't have been concerned. After about 20 seconds of listening to the first track my mind was made up. The quality that the Mojo brings to the sound of instruments and voices is just unreal. I subsequently tried the Mojo through my Macbook Pro with Qobuz streaming using both headphones and the main hifi system and this absolutely kicks things up a few notches even further, streaming in 24/192. Buy it you won't regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I bought this to use with my hifi not headphones and the sound it produces is amazing. I am streaming Apple Music from my iPad through my Chord amp and I struggle to hear the difference in sound to my Arcam CD player. Worth every penny! I like the convenience of its size and no mains power requirement so accept the fact that it needs recharging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes listening to iPad music a new experience Have just watched the new HD version of the film Oklahoma! and heard sounds that I have never noticed before. I have been very impressed with the Mojo. I cannot wait to listen to many more tracks. It is was as if I had purchased new headphones

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Music is enjoyable again I could talk about the bass, treble, midrange, stereo imaging, sound stage etc..But I"m not going to, and that's what this convey's to me, it's not music broken down into an analytical affair. I found myself enjoying the music again, and that is the highest praise I can give, it's that simple! I don't use it for headphone listening, it's the front end of my sound system, simply beautiful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound - consider the compatibility though! I bought the mojo from the prestwich branch along with some new headphones. the sound is without doubt much better. i downloaded some 24 bit (SACD Quality) music on my laptop and it sounds just outstanding. you get a free album from native DSD which when played through jriver player it simply knocked me off my feet. unreal clarity. the file size was 6 GB though and i needed Dropbox to download it. (paid version as it was too large a file for the free account to handle) i was disappointed to find that the driver that i have to download for the mojo to work on windows platforms does not work on windows phones! The idea that i could use the mojo for music on my phone is now out the window. I have only had it a couple of days so if i'm wrong then please let me know how to get round this but i have tried really hard to get the driver installed on my phone but it simply isn't able to open the .exe file on my phone. top device but has some compatibility restrictions

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How Chord pulled this off I don't know! Absolutely exceptional. I won't bother with details on sound reproduction as there are plenty reviews explaining those points. What I will say is that I had very high expectations based upon research beforehand and paired with AKG N40 IEMs this DAC/amp has outperformed expectation. Then you look at the size of the thing! It's like walking around with a heavyweight hi-fi stack on your pocket... The optical input and 3V line-out setting is an excellent addition allowing me to feed smart TV streaming sound from my Sony TV digitally into the Mojo and then line-level out into my Cambridge Audio Azur. Build quality reminds me of MOTU studio gear, class leading. No need to think, buy it, I was initially sceptical at the value for £400, but definitely worth every penny. Well played Chord.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds great and looks much better in real life! I purchased the Chord Mojo to partner a new pair of Sennheiser HD800s. I have used it for a week now with an iPhone 6s and a Sony CD player and have to admit the sound quality is a huge improvement over using the in-built DACs on either the iPhone or CD direct. I mainly listen to classical music and have heard things in familiar pieces that I have never heard before.
