If you love your music to sound powerful yet accurate as much as movies then a full-size 5.1 speaker package with floorstanders at the front is usually the way to go. With Monitor Audio matching their impressive BX5 speakers to dedicated rears, centre and subwoofer, the BX5 5.1 simply excels with both music and soundtracks.

Key to the cohesive sound of this system is the fact that the speakers all use the same design of drive unit. This gives tonal accuracy and harmony around the whole of the sound stage. The C-CAM (Ceramic Coated Aluminium Magnesium) gold dome tweeters have an extended frequency response that stretches to beyond 30 kHz. Whilst this may be well above our audible spectrum it does have a positive effect on the sound; lower notes that we can hear aren't compressed downwards or harmonically compromised. In short, the treble response is smooth, sweet and detailed. Matching this refined tweeter unit are similarly impressive woofers. The highly developed C-CAM bass and mid-range integrates smoothly with the treble to give life-like vocals and a powerful, rhythmic bass response. Even without the subwoofer in action, the BX5 speakers provide a strong, powerful bass. The twin bass cones ensure plenty of dynamic attack and the ability to reach down and hold onto the lowest bass notes when required.

Another technically impressive feature are the woofer fixings. Rather than being bolted to the front baffle, through-bolt construction ensures isolation from the main cabinet and therefore a less coloured sound. The cabinets themselves are highly rigid and feature HiVe II port technology. This exhausts the air from the cabinet as quickly as possible to give a faster and more dynamic bass response.

Dedicated rear surround speakers are quite unusual at this price point, but very welcome. Key to their adaptability is a dual mode switch that phases the speakers to work either at the rear or side. This facility makes them ideal for both 5.1 and 7.1 home cinema set-ups. Simply add another pair of BXFX speakers to make this an enveloping 7.1 system. In addition to being switchable, the cabinet has been designed to be both slimline and effective in operating as a fill-in speaker.

Finally, there's the subwoofer. Like the rest of the Monitor Audio Bronze range, the BXW10 subwoofer uses a unique C-CAM (Ceramic Coated Aluminium Magnesium) cone. Carefully developed over many years, this material provides the ideal balance of lightness and rigidity. In terms of sound quality, this combination imbues the BXW10 with a bass that's not just deep but also exceptionally agile and textured. Not for the BXW10 the one-note 'thump' that lesser subs produce. Detailed and refined it might be, but this doesn't stop the BXW10 from packing a powerful punch when needed. The long-throw 10 inch cone is powered by a hefty 200 watts digital amplifier for precise control and solid depth. A new switch mode power supply helps improve the power and control still further.

With its walnut pearlescent finish, the BX5 pack blends well with both traditional and contemporary furniture.

It might not be the most compact speaker system about but, when it comes to sheer thrills - from both music and movies - little can beat the scale of the Monitor Audio Bronze BX5 5.1.

DELIVERY INFORMATION

All orders are shipped via our friends at DPD, except high value desirable items such as plasma and LCD TVs over 37 inches, which are sent fully insured with a specialist carrier.

If this is your first order with us, please ensure that the only address you enter is the credit card billing address, as this is the only address to which we can deliver. If you have previously placed an order on our website, you will be offered an alternative delivery address if your order value is
less than £500. Also, ensure you only click the submit order button once, as it will take a minute or so to process.

Delivery occurs within 6 working days (unless ordered on a 1-3 working days service). If after this time you have still to take receipt of your order email webaftersales@richersounds.com providing your order number, name, address, and brief details of what you ordered. We strive to answer all queries within a working day, although at busy times we do ask that you bear with us. Please submit your query only once, as repeated emails/telephone calls only serves to slow down our response time and can result in further delays to your order.

All deliveries must be signed for. They will NOT be left in garages, sheds, outside loos, porches etc. You must examine the goods before signing for them to ensure they are in good condition - if packaging is damaged please do not accept goods. Instead notify us as soon as possible. If there is no-one in to sign for the goods, they will be taken back to the courier depot and a card left.

If we are out of stock of an item or there is a problem, we will contact you as soon as is possible.

 
DELIVERY TRACKING

Once you have placed an order and the order has been dispatched, you will receive an e-mail (usually the day before delivery) from DPD containing your tracking information. Please note that this does not apply to plasma screens or accessories such as remote controls, cables, leads etc.
