Bring the music from your computer to life, with the Cambridge DacMagic XS V2.

Your music, your way

Gone are the days of CD being the only way of listening to a new album. Now it comes in a variety of formats, with downloading a popular choice. Your computer is perfect for storing music, but with playback, less so. Often the quality of the built-in DACs (Digital to Analogue Convertor) and headphone amplifiers leave a lot to be desired, failing to reproduce your music with the soul and character as intended by the artist. The Cambridge DacMagic XS V2 is the answer.

New style
The latest V2 version of the DacMagic XS brings with it a cool new style. The revised finish and logos give this pocket DAC an even more sophisticated style.

Music the way it was meant to be
Don't let the miniature size of the DacMagic XS V2 fool you. Cambridge Audio has managed to bring together a class-leading DAC and powerful headphone amplifier to breathe new life into your digital music in one small casing. Using a low jitter asynchronous USB connection along with support for USB Class 1 & 2 modes, DacMagic XS V2 connects using the highest quality USB connection with the least amount of distortion.

For PC or Mac
Both Mac and PC platforms are supported. Regardless of whether your music consists of MP3 files or high definition 24-bit/192kHz FLAC files, the DacMagic XS V2has all varieties covered. So as your music library evolves over time, the DacMagic XS V2 will have you covered.

Headphone amp
Along with the accomplished DAC, the DacMagic XS V2 is paired with a high quality headphone amplifier. Capable of providing up to 10 times more power than the headphone output found on most PCs and laptops it also has an on-board analogue volume control. Able to reproduce your music as faithfully as possible it provides a dynamic range and audio fidelity that is a league above what's possible on most PCs and laptops.

Compact and robust
Crafted using high quality brushed aluminium, the DacMagic XS is both lightweight and strong. Its streamline design combined with its small size and weight ensures that it's just as suited for music on the go as it is for use at home. With power being provided by the USB connection, there's no need for batteries or an external power supply. As an elegant addition, the built-in LED changes colour corresponding to the input sample rate.

Powerful sounds from a small package - for the best music on the move, don't leave home without one.

CAMBRIDGE AUDIO DACMAGIC XS V2 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from HiFi from a laptop I use two laptops to store and play music, on both i used DFX Audio Enhancer to improve the audio quality through my Audio Technica headphones, until i bought the DacMagic XS, now i can play high bitrate audio flat with no equalisation and hear the music as it was intended to be heard with the usb 2 driver installed and the Dac switched to usb 2 mode it delivers an extremely high quality sound with a wide soundstage that separates the individual instruments for a live performance experience as long as you set the Dac as the default output on your laptop and then set the quality to 24 bit in the settings you will enjoy high quality audio

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Portable Sound Upgrade Provides a noticeable boost in clarity for a MacBook or phone. With a pair of Shure SE530 IEMs it really brings out the detail in vocals and layered instrumental music, and add adds a real punch to drums. In USB2 mode, and connected with a USB OTG cable, the DacMagic is picked up by my LG G4 and defaults to 24/192. Battery drain is minimal, but if you want all-day use, then a powered DAC/Amp may be better. I have tried it with a number of ‘phones, including the Shure SE530, AKG K450, AKG K272HD, Sennheiser HD485, and UE Superfi 5 Pro. The only place where I could find fault is that when driving the higher impedance / lower sensitivity K272s the bass is a little anaemic. Compared with the headphone output from my Yamaha receiver (using a digital input to the receiver and DSP off), the DacMagic seems to lack a little oomph at the low end. If you already have high quality ‘phones, then this is probably the best upgrade you can currently make to your sound for £50.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mini DAC/Amp Bought this as replacement for a broken sound card, the minimalist design should help this fit in with any setup. Nice metal casing gives a premium look while the volume buttons are solid and don't feel cheap when pressed. Simple plug-and-play but you need to install driver for the higher sample rates. Cant say much about the sound, but there is an improvement vs onboard sound card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value I already own one of the Dacmagic products but didn't need the full functionality - I just wanted to improve the sound from my laptop. This product meets the requirement admirably - remarkable in a product so small

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good little device Improves the sound quality depth and clarity, however, running Windows 10 you need to install separate software from their website as Windows did not detect it...would have been useful to know in advance. ..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent value, very compact noticeable difference between standard laptop headphone output and sound through this piece of equipment. Very small, plugs in inline with with headphone socket with short lead, no additional power supply lead so just seems like a short extension to normal headphone lead that plugs into USB port. Apperas to be well made.Quick delivery, no problems.
